Merry Christmas!!

We had such a fun Christmas this year, and loved having so many of our family come to visit! Thought I would post some pictures of Addison being loved by her family!

First Haircut!

Just thought I'd post a few fun pictures. Addison had her first haircut this week thanks to Miss Janine. We love miss Janine, and she even comes to our house to cut our hair!!

This is after the snow storm we had the week we got home from China.

And, Addison met her first future boyfriend today - Aidan!! Aidan and Addison were supposed to be dedicated together at church tomorrow, but we decided Addison isn't quite ready to be handed off to a stranger yet (Pastor Dale). We're hoping for January!! (and yes, Aidan's just a little younger!)

The funny faces of Addison!

Oh, does this little girl make us laugh!! She is so funny, and is really becoming such a funny personality. She makes this hilarious face that we call "sour face". She started out only giving this face to Russ, but now she gives it to anyone who will laugh at her, including people in restaurants!

On a quick serious note, we did find the cause of her high fevers. She has had a pretty bad bladder infection. The dr. is a little concerned about her kidneys, so she will be undergoing a little more testing (hopefully on an outpatient basis), to make sure everything is ok. We appreciate your prayers as we await insurance approval, etc.

We have had a good week! Addison's fever is gone, and she is like a new person. We have finally figured out that she will eat food as long as it isn't on a fork or spoon! The picture I posted is her eating a chocolate chip cookie!! Hey, whatever works!

She took her first bath tonight without crying! And, we had a fun day shopping with Auntie Kate!

Yes, it has been a successful week all around, can't wait to see what comes next!

Home update

It's hard to believe we have been home 3 days already. It all feels like a blur. We are slowly adjusting back to Illinois time. Addison has still been running a fever off and on. We took her to the dr. on Thursday, and of course that was the one day she wasn't running a fever. We took her this morning, for a quick nurse visit, to read a result from a test on Thursday. Our dr. happened to see us, and when I told him about her fever, he immediately started making calls, getting results from tests, running more tests, and finally sent us to the hospital for a stat chest x-ray. So far all of her tests have come back normal, and she doesn't have an ear infection. He is starting her on an antibiotic this afternoon, even while we wait on a few more test results. Luckily, she has adjusted pretty quickly to IL time, and slept for 12 hours straight last night. But she is also sleeping a lot during the day, I guess that goes along with the fever.

She does still have her "happy times", and she makes us laugh and love her over and over. I am posting a funny picture with BaBa (daddy) and Riley. Talk about having boys wrapped around her little finger! She loves to play and pull their hair!
